Job Description
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Responsible for scheduling injections, procedures, surgeries, consultations, and all diagnostic studies for the specific physicians. Calling patients to schedule both the test/procedure/surgery and the follow up appointment. Verifies the insurance has approved the procedure, study, or surgery.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Email or call facility to schedule procedure, consult, surgery or test.
- Calling patients to schedule appointments and educate patients for follow up, procedure, consults, surgery and or test.
- Notify the referring physician that the appointment has been made.
- Verifying the insurance has approved the procedure prior to scheduling.
- Answers questions pertaining to procedures.
- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Equivalent to four years high school or GED, with particular emphasis during high school in office skills, shop skills, or others.
- 12 to 18 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Mental alertness and adaptability to office and field area work routines.
